Have any of you ever bought the Nursing/Medical PDA off ebay?

Hi ladies and gents,
I wanted to know if any of you have purchased this nursing PDA from ebay? It looks too good to be true--too good to be LEGAL! It has a trillion bazillion drug guides/calcs/encyclopedias/whatever. It is like a nursing goldmine! LOL. I am sooo ready to get this if it is true, but am worried it is not legal. My conscience will bother me forever.

Thanks everyone. :-)

PALM TX NURSING MEDICAL PDA / NEW 2010 DRUG GUIDES 4 GB - eBay (item 120586022040 end time Jun-30-10 06:33:45 PDT)
considering that the palm tx is no longer in production and the company itself was recently sold to hewlett packard, i would be very wary about buying anything that may have zero support. further, most cell phones today have the exact same functions and actually costs less if you sign up with a service plan. so you would be simply buying it for the installed programs. that said, the installed programs sends up a red flag. according to the ebay ad, they're giving you 7 grand worth of software and the pda for a price of about $250. i noticed that there is also an enticing rolling ad that claims... "last one left!" talk about dangling some heavy bait. too heavy for me, and too good to be true probably. i vote it a thumbs down.

Thanks! I have always been afraid of buying on ebay because it is so easy to scam... I also noticed at the bottom that they sold a keyboard and other expensive gadgets with the PDA. Now that is crazy.... I had no idea that palm was sold to HP. I really need to get more informed! I guess I will stick to a netbook or ipod. :-)

i bought one at the beginning of my nursing program and have never regretted it. i have to be honest with you though, i do question the legality of the whole thing. it has tons of programs that i have never even used and most likely do not even need.if you would have a guilty conscience about purchasing this product than do not do it. i agree with the above poster in that if you have a smartphone (or even an ipod touch) you can just pay for the apps on that particular device. for the most part all i ever used was the drug book and you should be able to download that for less than $250.

Thank you Jojofries. It was the first time I ever heard of that thing, so I was curious to know more about it from current RNs. Thanks for your input. I think I will consider an iPod touch likes both of you have mentioned.
