What to do next...

I've been working in a hospital setting as a RN for 16 months. I've gained a lot of experience but, now I'm wondering what I should do next. Looking for better work conditions and better pay. I would really like to find other avenues than going back to school.

Home health, hospice or dialysis?? There are so many options and I don't know where to start. Anyone been here? What did you do?

I understand your frustration, but it is unlikely that salaries in non-acute areas will exceed those paid by hospitals. Salaries are determined by a number of factors, but the most important one is the "difficulty" of the job. Jobs with less physical labor, better hours & lower stress do not have to pay as much to recruit and obtain qualified staff.
