Do your hospitals have bed bug problems?

The environmental services associate came out to my desk area and began to spray something on the floor. I looked at her and asked if I thought she was spraying for what I think she was and she replied, "Oh honey, you don't want to be taking these things home with you!"

There are bed bug problems all over here (as in the region).

What about your hospitals/clinicals/etc....?

What is your management doing to help protect everything and prevent the spread? I think everyone is working really hard to try and keep it from spreading, its just really hard to control.
Holy crap, no! I had not heard of the spread into any hospital facilities, although I guess it is inevitable.

O. M. G. I would absolutely freak if I knew I was taking care of patients in beds full of bugs. Like we don't get enough hallucinating weirdos already --- now we might actually have to explain to them "No, really, you're not hallucinating, you're getting bit up. Sorry, it's a hospital-wide problem, and management is working to fix it." What part of the country is this? I don't think that the bedbug problem is as bad up in the Northern states (where I am) from what I've heard.

bedbugs?? holy crap, batman!!i watched a news report on these beasties on last night's nbc evening news and i could just hardly sit still and watch it. i've survived lice, crabs, scabies, maggots etc. i think if we ever had an invasion by a stampede of killer bedbugs, i'd d...i...e...

ewwwww. absolute hitchcock! so how can they be destroyed once in facilty? anyone know? or better yet, how to prevent them? dip all the patients like you would puppies with the mange?

Bed bugs? I am guessing that will not go over well with the big "customer service" push. I can't even begin to think what Press Ganey would have to say about bed bugs.
