i graduate in 5 weeks (ahhhhh!!!). i have begun to apply for jobs, they are really none where i live. i came across one in a respite home for children with mental and physical disabilities. i want it so bad. for me the hours are what i want, one weekend night a week, which is ideal for me. i had a cp p/t who was about 20, but looked 11. ever since him i knew i wanted to work in that area. i figured i never would since jobs are scarce. but then i saw the posting, and could not sleep last night because i was so thrilled.

since i have no medical peds experience, how do i get my resume noticed. what kinds of things should i put on my cover letter?

thanks for your help, i jumping out of my skin here!!!

I don't have any advice but good luck to you and let us know what happens!

The only advice I have is to include a cover letter that expresses your desire to work in this population and how special you feel it is. Good luck

as a parent of a child with a disability you are exactly who would appeal to me, someone who has a passion for the field. Sell you past experience and you desire to be in this area of nursing. Congrats on your impending graduation and from as the parent of child that is disabled thanks for caring Good luck
