IS THIS TRUE???

Recently read on a nursing blog: Nurse (BSN in 2010) said during school clinicals, students disrobed to their undergarments to practice on each other (sponge bathing, other procedures, etc) The few guys in the class practiced on each other, and the gals with the gals but the whole classes disrobed out in the open first. The entire class watched each pair work at their respective station. Don't know where the school was located. No one openly complained, she said. I Never heard of such a thing. Certainly didn't happen in my school.

Does that actually happen?
I'm waiting to find that out too, because that NEVER happened in my program; we never disrobed openly around students; even in our assessment class we had modesty prevail, no disrobing.

Yup. We had to. I wasn't too happy about it but in nursing school you just keep your head down and try not to be noticed to make it out alive. Lol

Woah. That never happened in my LVN program. If they told me to disrobe I'd laugh & walk out. I don't care if I got an F.

We didn't totally take our clothes off or anything but we had to put a gown on and practice washing the arms and legs of our fellow students.

We use sports bras and shorts under gowns for assessment class. No nudity, and certainly not changing in front of each other.I simply didn't "notice" when some of the shyer students kept a spaghetti strap top on as well.

We were encouraged to wear shorts and sports bras, but were not required to do so.At least the students disrobing to their undergarments for lab practice didn't have to go through what the students at Valencia College had to do... practice vaginal ultrasound exams on each other! In my experience this has been a pretty common part of nursing school. Yeah, it's super weird to be near naked (we wore bathing suits under the gown) and have someone poking and prodding your gown-covered body, but that's sort of the point; it's just as weird for patients but yet we expect them to cope with it. I think it does help do understand how vulnerable someone can feel in that situation.

I got to practice on someone with DD implants. Double dayyyyyyummmmmmm!!!
