Where to find classes/educational opportunities?

I live in rural area. Where would I find information on certificates and classes? Some jobs list "must get NRP within three months of hire" for instance. As a newer grad, where do I start to look for stuff like Critical Care Certificates, Surgery certification programs, continuing education, etc...? I wouldn't mind paying for it myself if it makes me stand out in the crowd of resumes. Thanks everyone!
www.medscape.com has lots of free continuing education things. Some certifications require you to be working in a particular job related to the certification. When you are working, the facility should have information on where to get the certifications they require.

Check out the local hospitals' websites. They might have some sort of education link where you can find relevant classes to take. If you aren't an employee of the hospital, you might have to pay a fee.

two connotations for "certificates". One has to do with continuing education or cpr, acls, etc. The other has to do with specialized certification related to an area of nursing.Someone who might know is a hospital educator. Try giving them a call. If you want CNE, look online for nursing CNE and check out various manufacturers of hospital equipment. Medline and Baxter both have excellent programs online.
