Will they really be contacting me?

I applied to a hospital online and got an email that said they would contact me in a few days to let me know what the next step would be....does this mean they will really contact me or is this just a way of letting me know they are not interested?
Who knows? I would look for them to contact you. If they don't, then contact them. Good luck.

Ditto the above. Its taken me a few days to a few weeks to get a response back from applications. Cant do much but wait a bit and then attempt to follow up.

I'm surprised that it said they would be contacting you. Usually the canned response is "We will contact you IF we are interested in taking further steps..."

I've been contacted for jobs two months later - jobs that I sort of forgot that I had even applied for.IME, both from last year and now, it's a LONG SLOW process, generally speaking. A job I'm currently interviewing for this week, I originally sent them my resume in late April. So if I get the job, that would equal a 2-month process. That seems pretty typical.

I read and re-read the email. It said they will be contacting me.That was 5 days ago and I haven't heard anything, so I figure that's that. Just poor wording on their part.

I think HR will E-mail you if the Hiring Manager ok's forwarding it onto the unit coordinator. I suspect your application is marked for forwarding, next step an E-mail that says it has been forwarded and the hiring manager will contact you...that can be another week or two from my experience. Then finally you may get a phone interview after that an in person interview. loooooooooong time to wait for a job.

I'm still waiting to be contacted by the space aliens.
