how did you make money while job hunting?Rating: (votes: 0) how did you pay for bills/living expenses while job hunting? some of the people who posted said it took them 6 to 9 to 12 months to find a job. how did you do it? Tutoring students at a community college and teaching microsoft word and internet skills to older adults. Comment:
I have a feeling a lot of people depended heavily on family/spouse while searching. I have NO clue how single parents do it.

A few of my classmates and I joke that we're gonna have to work at Starbucks in the meantime...heck, they should pay me for the amount of time I have spent there in the past 2 years!

Hi! I would like to know what kind of job are you looking for? I know job hunting is stressful. If you can get a job at local stores that would be great help. Also keep saving as much as you can.

I lived at home, borrowed money from my boyfriend, and worked 30 hours as an aide. But this was just in school and I had a nursing job lined up but it cost money for the test-prep, license, etc etc. I was very fortunate and I give credit for my classmates who didn't have it as easy.

I worked as a consultant for my previous employer, building spreadsheets to do some very complex (and BORING!) calculations. Brought in enough money to pay the bills AND reminded me of why I had quit that job and gone to nursing school in the first place! It was such a relief when I finally got a nursing job (5 months after graduation)!

Serving/bartending positions will get me through school and probably also get me through waiting on a job! Unfortunately that's where all the part time money is!

Thanks for all the replies! I have worked as a waitress so I'll probably look into that.... Has anyone worked as a CNA/caregiver?
Comment:
I worked as a CNA all through nursing school. When job hunting, I kept the job until I landed an RN position at another hospital.
Comment:
I worked the same job I had before I started nursing school.
