Retraining for a new sleep scheduleRating: (votes: 0) ![]() When you've switched shifts or had to drastically alter your sleep schedule, what are some tips? Do you go cold turkey on your old schedule or do you gradually adjust your bedtime? I can't remember how I used to get up at 6:30 every morning back in high school, so any ideas are appreciated. ![]() You just start waking up earlier and going to bed earlier. There really isn't any secret to it. Comment:
I guess you've never had a baby.

I go to bed earlier and take valerian root. You can find it in a tea or capsule in the vitamin department. It doesn't make you fall asleep but it does help to enhance your sleep. I really try to use herbs. Also, I try to do very physical workouts to tire my body; if you can't then try some fast walking around the block. Good luck.

I prefer the grains rice and barley, and the herb Humulus lupulus to help me sleep.
