iv catheter recommendations

Do you have a favorite brand and type of IV catheter? We are looking at making a switch at one facility where I work. Thanks for any recommendations.
I've always liked ProtectIV, where you slide the catheter to lock the need. I have always had better success than the button ones. The button one (I forget the brand), I would hit it too soon, or I would hit the button and blood would splatter. I would go out of my way to find the slide-y onesGreat medical terminology in my head.

I use this type & really like them. This may be what some are talking about with the button, but I have never had a problem. We also have this second type....and I hate these things! We use this type of twin cath & I like these also.

Introcan safety W from BBraun , we've recently changed to the portless introcan from the ported vasofix but i've been using the BBraun safety cannualas for a good few years and they are a nice product...http://www.bbraun.com/cps/rde/xchg/b...d=PRID00000987and nothing beats the tegaderm 1633 for a site dressing

Man I miss the tegadem 1633! we use the 9505W and it annoys me so much. the introcan vasofix without wings is good. It has a sharp safe device on it. That second image I HATE those. we only use them for s/c lines in a 25 gauge. they have a terrible jerky motion.

Comment:
the trust i work for decided the 1633 was 'too expensive' at one point and started getting 9505w and a 'fake' 9505w ... we did an audit on AAU where i was working at the time and proved that the amount of cannulas that fell out before they were due to removed would cost the trust that much more money they capitulated on the 1633s
