What does it mean??!!

I'm a little frustrated these days with hospitals hiring processes!!!!

I was called this morning to schedule an interview with the unit manager of a telemetry floor. My interview is scheduled for next week and she even sent me a confirmation e-mail with directions to the hospital and everything.

At the same time they updated the status of the application online and it went from active to filled. What does it mean???
Why did they even schedule an interview if they've already filled the position. I heard that sometime hospital do this because they have to interview people for legal reasons even if they have already hired someone. Is it true???
I'm getting really frustrated with these games, I would go to the interview anyway (it's a 2 hour drive from where I live) just to practice my interview skills I guess

It's way too hard to get a job!!!!!

I wouldn't read too much into it. They probably all the interviews scheduled (yours included) and have a lot of applications already and decided to take the job down so they won't be bombarded with more applications.Good luck!

Maybe they got too many apps coming in. They prob picked a good bunch to interview and may be trying to pick from that pool instead of getting swamped with more apps. Don't let it get you down. Go do your best and if not for anything else, use it as a practice interview. If they like you they may consider you for other positions or one in the future. Don't count yourself out before you get there!

Look at it this way- at least you got an interview with the unit manager instead of with HR personnel

They must be bombared with applicants. Go to the IV. Good luck!!

Don't worry about this at all. It's not worth the stress of worrying about it.

I will update you! My interview is next Tuesday. I honestly don't have much hope since I'm a new grad and they're probably interviewing experienced nurses but it's ok, it will be a learning experience!!!!!Thanks everyone for the good luck wishes :redpinkhe

Just a quick update to say that I was offered the job and I accepted it!!!!I'm obviously really happy because telemetry is where I wanted to start my career since I'd like to be a cardiac nurse eventually.I'm nervous because I know it's gonna be really challenging, when I toured the unit I noticed that it's a very busy floor. The hospital changed ownership back in February so that's a little concerning, I know the laid off several people back then so I hope that won't be an issue in the future. This week I started working in a long term acute hospital and even if it's great experience, I know that it's not exactly the kind of experience I need for my long term career goals. It's gonna be tough to tell them that I got another job. They've been very nice to me and they were the only place giving me a chance as a new grad. What should I expect working on a telemtry floor?
