Senior citizens: Breaking down the stereotypes

How do Americans view aging? How do we treat our seniors in a youth-dominated culture?

Luckily, we have the internet to break down stereotypes. Not all retirees are doddering fools. They have wit and wisdom to share wit us. They make take longer to get there, but they still appreciate a good laugh, can still make fun of themselves and life. In a culture where we pay too much attention to Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan (who have ONLY taut skin going for them), we need to look beyond the superficial and embrace the generation which once ran the world. Hopefully, this will spur a national conversation about how we relate to and how we house (warehouse?) our parents and grandparents in their twilight years.
