Non traditional job ideas??

Hi, I wasn't sure what section to put this in. I was just hopping to get an idea of where nurses are employed that I might not have thought of. So I would appreciate it if you would add places/kinds of employers that might hire nurses in a non traditional setting. Stuff like the oil industry, an airline or an Embassy. I don't know, just trying to get an idea what's out there.
Thanks for the help
Boeing did up to a few years ago that I knew of. My mom had a friend that recently retired. A pretty cush job until somebody either had a heart attack or cut their arm off.

my husband is an engineer in the world's largest sink manufacturer. They have a nurse on staff for heat exhaustion, tetanus shots, physicals and what not. Pay is very competitive with bennies. Much paperwork and drug testing, workers comp issues, but it is a nice job, it's called occupational healthGenerally a BSN and some exp. is needed to navigate the complexities. If you've done a year in a hospital, with a BSN, it should do just fine. Salary in NC, is about $75k per year. In this type of position you ARE held accountable for accurate records due to the comp cases. An alternative for you to consider.

The first one I think of is a nurse that does physicals for insurance rates. I talked to one once and she said it's nice because you meet a lot of people but you have to travel which can be a negative.

I saw job recently for the casino, the airport and the horse races all for nurses. Am not in USA, but they sound like fun jobs. Hospitals can be quite depressing and working in a non hospital environment would be so great.

Many large companies have staff wellness programs and may have nurses working on these. My husband is a health researcher for Carolinas Health Services in Charlotte and some of the wellness specialists are nurse, whilst others are dieticians, excercise techs etc.CHS are in the process of setting up a wellness program for Charlotte Speedway.I know that Lowes home improvement have a wellness program for staff too.Other thing I thought about was working as a Clinical research coordinator or CRA for drug companies or clinical research organisations. Also some of the YMCAs have nurses that do health screening etc.
