Help- need to have ideas- new job

Any ideas? heres the scenario: currently working stepdown/cardiac. We keep getting pts that used to be unit materialIt didnt used to be this way.I feel like leaving my license at the door.If I wanted to work in the ICU- I would go there..
So- I am willing to go back to school- actually am finishing bsn next spring- but for what? More baloney?Any sugggestions? Looked at local job market- even with a BSN I will only get a staff job .Need! to get away from bedside nursing before I have another bad day and want to drive my car off the road on the way home. That and the rotating 3 shifts in one week is doing me in also.
So, what kind of jobs could use the talents of a nurse- while not actually being one? I will go back to school for them- just to get away!
What about moving to more administrative positions such as CNL, Nurse Educator, or infection control. You can also try occupational health. Hope that helps.

Comment:
If you can relocate, there are a lot of jobs available without a BSN that are not bedside nursing. Look for smaller towns within a reasonable distance to larger ones- especially in the South. The initial hourly rate may look worse, but the cost of living is often a LOT less in smaller towns.... Just an idea

Dialysis nurse, School nurse, Case management...the options are enless...

Home health, community health, school nursing, ambulatory surgery, doctor's office, telephone triage. All jobs out of the acute care setting. You can also get your MSN and become and instructor if you like that route.

Adult Day Care as well

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I did see a job for adult daycare. never gave that a thought.I havent seen a DR office job listed in ages for an RN.Home health is a thought.Ive talked to other dialysis nurses- seemsto be tough, as they have the assembly line mentality also.Havent seen ads for school nurse- but I also have no peds experience anyhow. All the case management jobs want BSN and experience around here.I suppose these would allow me to keep my current degree. I was justt kinda hoping for something non-nursing.thanks-jr
