I'm not a weepy person by nature, but I can barely see to type this because the tears are literally running off the end of my nose. What a sad, sweet, poignant story. Thank you so much for being there for this little family, and for sharing them with us.You must be a wonderful nurse. If I were ever to be in a situation where I needed the kind of help your unit provides, I'd hope for someone like you to take care of me.

Such a beautifully written piece. I have tears running down my face now. I can only hope to become a fraction of the nurse that you are!

"Being a nurse is hard" Yes, it is and from my view, there is NO greater job in the world! Thank you for showing how much nurses can impact a life. I don't know if you've already considered it but may I suggest you submit your article for publication in a journal? I think this would be perfect!

A beautifully told, heartbreaking story

Beautifully told real life story. Thank you for sharing it. Non-nurses don't often understand the things we see and orchestrate.

Wow...Thank You for sharing!

It's been a very long time since any story made me teary eyed... There really are no words. I can't imagine going through that and how very difficult it must've been for her and her little family.

I guess there was no place like the ones you see advertised today that use allopathic methods (slash/burn/poison) to treat cancer as well as alternative/complementary techniques. Or no one told her about such plalces or she rejected them or tried them and could not be helped. Or whatever.Very sad situation but you guys did all you could, I know.I once had a mom whose truly beautiful dtr was stillborn. Mom did not want to hold her or have a picture taken with her, at least not yet. Dad did, though. So I arranged that. It was all tremendously sad, but I'm glad I took the time and made the effort. Chin up, Friend. Nursing is tough but you came through for your patient with flying colors. Love the style you use to write. More, more.
