1 I suddenly thought about how I HATE to see actors vomiting. It really turns my stomach, I close my eyes. Yet taking care of patients in PACU, it doesn't bother me at all.

Just another one of those what bothers me on film, but I deal with it every day, threads.
The smell of vomit, 'nuff said.

For awhile it was the sound of the wretching that got to me. Then I had a guy the other night fill up his tub 8 times in 20 minutes. I then realized how little it bothers me now ha ha.

urine is the only thing that doesn't make me run to my happy place

I almost stepped in not one, but TWO puddles of puke on my way home from work last night. Giant puddles, one near where I catch my bus, the other near my apartment.I was completely grossed out and came to this conclusion: If you are my patient and you're puking, I will hand you the emesis basin and treat you with the dignity and respect you deserve.HOWEVER, if you are a twenty-something that can't hold your liquor who feels compelled to puke in the middle of the sidewalk after partying a little too hard, then you deserve nothing but scorn.

Ahh,yes! But emesis gives us insight into the patient's disease process. As good little nurses, we are required to observe the ....-Amount-Color-Odor-Contentsof the basin!Don't forget to chart all of the above.
