Relocating to other areas?

What's the best thing for someone to do--as far as getting a job or networking-- whom plans on relocating to another area, potentially losing all the contacts they made at the previous area they were at?

The most I want to work here as a RN is one year before moving to my location of interest...
Apply for jobs in several areas that you are interested in moving to. Move to the place that offers you a job.
