Am I on the right track?

I've been in the process for several months trying to get my first job as a new RN. I've applied to numerous positions locally as well as out of state. I don't have a multi-state license, but I figure if I did, that it would help my prospects of getting a job out of state, considering 3 out of the 4 states in which I've applied for jobs are compact states.

Some of the job postings state that you need a license for that particular state or compact state licensure and some postings state that you need a license particularly for that state. I currently have a single-state license. I would first need to declare the current state in which I reside (which is also a compact state) as my primary state of residence for legal purposes before I may apply for a multi-state license. Once I get my multi-state license, I figure that would look better on my resume to employers.

I really didn't want to take the route to change my primary state of residency, but if it means finding a job easier, I guess that's what it's going to take. I figure it's better than hoping an employer will hold a job for me until I actually apply for licensure for their state. Am I on the right track with this?
that sounds expensive - unless you are a traveling nurse why pay for licenses you will not use? You might put on your resume that you will apply for licensure in that state. Most BON's are online and you might find that some have a temporary permit situation for those who have applied but not yet received a license.
