specialty change??Rating: (votes: 7) ![]() I tried a bunch of different kinds of nursing, and don't regret any of them That's a great thing about nursing- if something doesn't pan out the way you hoped, or you get fried in one area, there are other things to choose from. IF the NICU openings don't come up much, maybe see if you can interview, and shadow- can't hurt Comment:
I know what you mean. I just switched from med/surg ortho to MICU. Now that I have made the switch, I am soooo happy I did it. Kind of wished I had done it sooner. Listen, you can always go back to the ER, but grab the opportunity and seize it. I used to work nights too and I'm telling you that my health has also suffered. For a while I was worried about what my co-workers would think, but you have to worry about yourself and what makes you happy. I say go for it!

I say, go for it too! once you know your heart is at other place rather than where you are now, the work won't be fun.Good luck!
