First Night aloneRating: (votes: 2) Started a new job in a LTC as a new grade LPN. Yesterday was my first night shift alone. Which went really great. To my supprise the next day evening shift called to asked if I took some oranges that were in the med room, belonging to a resident. The first thing I asked her was " did you ask the day shift"? She replied "no". After my night shift , day shift was there for 8 hours!!!. I wonder why I was the first person she asked?. Any advice how I should handle this will help!!. Never faced a situation like this in my entire life. ![]() They were probably just trying to find the oranges for the resident- and had to ask everyone who may have seen them - I'd blow it off.... oranges aren't good reason for any possible bad relationships with other shifts Congratulations !! Don't worry, I don't think they were pointing fingers. It's ok to be nervous, just keep up the good work!

Don't worry about this situation. If you didn't do it. Just deny it. It is very trivial. BUT, being the person I am, I would probably react the same way as you. Kind of freak out a little. I've had patient accuse nurses of taking from their room all the time. Unfortunately, sometimes it is theft.
