Are there any Volunteer/Internship opportunities in NJ for new RNs?

Does anyone know of any volunteer opportunities or places that will train new RNs? I would work for free in exchange for the training or hands on experience while searching for a job, or even after I found one too for continued experience. I am not currently employed in the medical field and as weird as it sounds, I miss clinical.
Where do you live in nj? I know the hospital is what all new grads want (that was me a little over a year ago) but it's rough out there. Try to get your foot in the door anywhere you can. I did a year in a sub-acute rehab facility in Plainsboro. I got a ton of experience and now I'm putting my resume out to hospitals and I am actually getting calls back. Best of luck, message me if you want -Sarah

Some hospital systems have new grad internships that are paid. I've never heard of a program that permits you to work as an RN in a volunteer capacity due to insurance/liability issues. There was a job listing for new grads (RN or LPN) internship in Hazlet:http://www.careerbuilder.com/JobSeek...V6VV39CYZ8C1FCI know that RN's & LPN's can volunteer with the American Red Cross in Disaster Services and a few other units, however you must be a qualified nurse able to function independently as it is NOT a training program.

Thanks Sarah, I live in Monmouth County, but I would commute. I have applied to every kind of facility there is. I have a great job history, (my current job I have been with is 15 years) but no recent medical experience, I am thinking that is the problem. I do not know how to message you so I friend requested you I am new to the posting, I usually just browse! Thanks again, Lorraine.
