Returning after a long break...where is my confidence?

I am struggling to have the confidence I once had as a nurse after returning from a year long break.

And this would not be oh so bad - if other nurses were willing to be helpful and encouraging, remind me of this or that when I

need, or simply answer my question rather than act like I do not know and what am I doing here?

Instead, when I ask a question- to refresh myself- it becomes an opportunity for other nurses to build their ego, or talk about

me, or talk to supervisors......

How do I cope with this? anyone been there? any ideas? thank you in advance
Did your manager give you any kind of a orienting/re-orienting period? Are you returning to your old unit or is this a new one? I would probably go see the manager and ask for a little time to orient myself, it can be tough to meld into any unit without that.

i think its normal what your going through, i think if you weren't feeling that way then you might need to be worried , it show that you care and want to be a good nurse , that said its not going to alleviate your fears, but just keep going after a few weeks months im sure it will come back to you
