No PCT's?

I am an RN and work on a telemetry floor. I have noticed that as PCT's and/or Monitor techs leave, they are not being replaced. I value the work our PCT's and Monitor techs do!
Is this happening everywhere? Nursing care and quality suffer for it because we are expected to do more duties without the help we need. In the end the patients suffer for it.
Not where I work, but before, yes...they fired all of them and we had to do 6 pt's by ourselves. It was not good!
