Can you be 'cured' from c-diff, or are you always colonized with it? Is someone really only contagious when they have diarrhea, or anytime they have a stool?

Comment:
If someone has cdiff, they are always contagious whether having stools or not at that moment in time.I believe 2 negative stool samples will show that the person is no longer infected.

Comment:
Yes, medication can cure it most of the time, then there's the lovely fecal transplant I've read about a couple of times.~millie

Yes you can be cured of C-diff and some people have a chronic infection. SO it is a little of both.

Yes you can be cured and then just live normally with no concerns. It happened to a friend of mine about 5 years ago.She has no lasting effects.
