Go for it or wait until I have my review?

Hiya. It's me again. I have another (possibly silly) question.

I took a looksee at the internal positions open at my hospital, and there is one open in postpartum. This is the kind of area I want to work in, so my knee-jerk instinct is to apply- however, as I talked about in another post, my one year performance review is coming up. I'm wondering, should I wait until I have my review to apply for this opening? I don't actually even know when my review will be- it may not be until mid-April, because this will be the one year point.

What would any of you suggest?
I say go for it, especially since you have no real date about when your review is. Do you think it will be held against you if you apply?
