Help deciding continued educational pathRating: (votes: 0) I have a B.A. in Psychology and am not sure i should go to a community college for nursing, a 4 year college and get a BSN (hoping some of my credits will transfer) or take prerequisite and try to get into a masters program for nursing (if this is even possible). I would like to start taking classes as soon as possible in the Philadelphia/Bucks County area. My ultimate goal is to eventually have a career more focused on nutritional counseling and aid...or possibly becoming a end of life nurse/coach. (I know they are rather different careers!) Any information or tips would be so great!!! You won't be able to get into a master's nursing program without becoming an RN. You could attend an accelerated BSN program since you already have a bachelor's and there are pros and cons to this route. Or, you can get into an ASN program and complete your BSN online while you work as an RN. Comment:
Definitely think towards BSN as the trend is to hire only that level of entry level nurses. Might as well be prepared. I recommend you contact a state university/college in your area for best prices and have them mail you brochures on the programs (or go online) and then talk to someone. Might be worth a trip to talk to an advisor before you spend money
