Rant about licenses

Sooooo I took my NCLEX on may 2nd, PVT pop up, schools sent in transcripts may 17th. I called the CA BON and they said it will take at least two more weeks. I also have moved to NYC and will need to transfer my license, which they said would take at least 6 more weeks after that.

Why the hell does it take so long? People need jobs, they dont need to wait around for what should be electronically verified in a second.
Feel better? It is frustrating to not be in control.....signs of a good nurse.In this instant gratification electronic society we live in, it's hard to remember a time when we had to wait for someone to call us back. I waited 4/5 months for my board results. The more you dwell on it the longer it will seem.Take a deep breath in.....now let it out. Feel better.

Oooh imma piggy-back on this rant! I'm waiting to transfer my MD compact license to NJ, where they don't DO compact licenses. I'm doing a summer camp for 9 weeks. I just waited a week to get my finger-printing cards, still need to get finger-printed and oh yeah get it all notarized---in time for camp in June 8th!

CA is not a compact state first of all. I don't believe NY is either. So those fingerprints have to go through FBI, DOJ and then sent to the BON. Then the BON starts to process it.As a travel nurse, it takes time to do this and I get frustrated. I also want my nurses vetted. Between verification and receipt of ATT, our program grads wait about a month. I'll take good PVT and waiting for a license over that; at least you took it and passed.
