Putting on a condom catheter

I know a CNA who told me that she was allowed to put a condom catheter onto a patient. She said that the only way she could place it onto the patient was to masterbate him and that is what she did to get it on. I am not a nurse or know much about this yet but I found it disturbing even though she told me that its hard to place it on a male patient if he is not erect and that was the only way she could do this. Is this true? I began to look up condom catheters online and no where in the instructions does it say that the penis should be erect. There is an adhesive that makes it stick to the penis
OMG, the penis does NOT have to be erect to put on a condom catheter! How is that not sexual abuse to a patient?

That is awful!!!

Of course it's easier to place when the penis is erect, especially on those less endowed...but that doesn't mean we're supposed to MAKE IT erect...yeeeesh. Use the sticky stuff on the penis and inside the catheter, then roll it on! No need to make it erect. If it won't go on when it's flaccid, it's time to forget the idea of a condom catheter.

That is one of the most disgusting things I've ever read here. That CNA needs to be stripped of her certification and fired STAT !!

Why is everyone so shocked by this CNAs stupid behavior? She is a CNA, for crying out loud. I hear stupid stuff like this from CNA's all the time, which is why I have to keep an eye on my patients even more closely when i do get a CNA.

That is just wrong! How is that not sexual abuse or elder abuse? She needs to be reported!
