Worst was finding the security alarm I had removed from a discharged infant (but not deactivated) in my pocket as I attempted to exit the unit at the end of shift. In this particular facility the infant alarm automatically locked ALL the doors (both unit and hospital wide) and shut down the elevators. Talk about embarrassing!

It is funny but whenever someone asks, "Hey, have you seen (whatever is missing)?" My coworkers will line up at the nurses' station and start emptying their pockets. We just do it automatically.

Butter packets, along with the usual assortment of crap. Don't ask me why.
