Not sure where to look??Rating: (votes: 0) Thanks so much for any info!!! Sorry not sure if I can be much help but if you like the hospital your at do they offer 8 hr shifts like 11-7 or another shift. Just make sure you stay there until you actually get another job. I'm not sure about your area but RNs are still finding lots of clinic jobs. I would continue to search online at sites like monster like you stated or even look online for the actual website of clinics you make know. Lots of times they post employment opportunities. Home health wouldn't be too bad if you like having some independence while working. Not sure if your qualified but you could look into nursing jobs in health departments and schools. That way you probably wouldn't have weekends and it would be more of a set day schedule. Good luck. Sorry I couldn't help much. Sometimes you have to keep searching and eventually you will see something. Comment:
Just thinking - rather than focusing on a job change, how about alternative chidcare arrangements? I know you're new to the area so how about recommendations from coworkers (yours and his), local high schools, church groups, etc. I realize you'd have to be super careful with all the referrals for child safety.Wish you luck.

Definitely look for places that staff 8 hour shifts. Not every place does 12s. Granted, it may be hard to land right into a plum 7-3 shift (or whatever shift you consider to be plum), but it's not impossible...or you may have to start off on nights/evenings for a while and then work your way to the desired shift. Also, depending on how much experience you have under your belt, why not become an agency/registry nurse? That would give you more control over your schedule and you can choose exactly when you want to work (such as on weekends when you know the better half will be home). The downside is that you may not get all the hours you need depending on where you are and what you want to work. Also, not all agencies offer benefits.
