So who is working tomorrow?Rating: (votes: 0) Me! I've worked Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, the 4th of July, Halloween, Memorial and Labor day weekends this year, but I got Thanksgiving off. I discharged half of my adolescent psych unit today, so there's a chance of cancellation. Best wishes for a good shift! Comment:
This is my first Christmas Eve and Christmas off in 3 years since I became a nurse. I have worked every single holiday for just about all 3 years.

I'm working. Don't want to, but I guess I have to. Would be more pleasurable if I was getting at double time pay...or at least time and a half. Honestly, who works Christmas for no extra pay?!!??!

I am working 8 hours! I don't mind though. We celebrated tonight like we always do. The kids will open their gifts before I leave for work then head to their dad's for the day shortly after. I figure if they aren't around why not work and make the extra money?

I did my time with shift work over the last 26 years. I work in a Family Medicine clinic, weekends and holidays(paid) off. Less pay with regular salary and all the days off I need. Hang in there, it gets better. The OT is awesome working holidays. Merry Christmas to the holiday nursing staff. I'm sure the patients would rather be home too.
