Help ! Urine test came back diluted!

I took a drug test on Tuesday for the company I am supposed to start working for on the 16th and it came back that it was to diluted ( I had three bottles of water to make sure I could go) ! I then was called this morning and asked to come in for a second test ( after I already had a cup of coffee and half a bottle of water). I am so nervous! They told me they could not hire me for this! I do not know what to do! They also said I will not find out till Tuesday. I am so upset.I have never done a drug in my life so this is horrible for me .
. Has anyone gone through this and with what company ?
I just peed in a cup on Tuesday too. In the instructions for the test, it said not to drink excessive fluids before the test. I drank one glass of water to be sure I could "go", and it turned out fine.Just go redo the test and don't drink so much water ahead of time!

Like Stargazer said....only have one cup of water before hand. I think with just the coffee and water you should be fine.

Yeah the three bottles of water definitely would have showed diluted on the test depending on how soon before the test you drank those. The general rule of thumb is not drink large amounts of water within four hours of test and generally no more than eight ounces in the hour before the test.

Second test came out diluted as well. They are trying to take my position away. I have nothing to hide. I am getting a lawyer and my primary physician is sending me for another urine analysis and a blood test . This makes me so upset because I have never done any drugs.

I'm sorry this is happening to you, but I don't think getting lawyer is a smart move. You can't force them to hire you, and getting adversarial is just going to make them think they are dodging a bullet by not hiring you and solidify that decision for them. It certainly would for me. Nor do I think a UDS from private practice is going to be too helpful, since there is no chain of custody most of the time, they are not considered valid.

I don't think getting a lawyer is going to do you any good. Any employer can refuse to hire you for any reason they see fit, save for a few specific reasons (such as gender or race) prohibited by law. This employer may have a policy that states that two "dilute" urine specimens are treated as a positive. What is a lawyer going to do?
