ACLS certification

The facility where I work (sub acute) does not offer certification opportunities. I am currently looking to more into an acute setting. Will getting this certification a be a good addition to my resume or is that something you are expected to complete once you are in a setting where recitations are frequent?

My ICU and LTACH jobs have provided it, but if you can I'd take it beforehand so you can put it on your resume.
