3 Seaworld is hiring seasonal RN's. . .for $14.75/hr. Seems a tad. . .insulting.

Yikes. I made more as student nurse intern in college. I just watched the documentary 'Blackfish' so I wouldn't want to work there anyway, especially when I came be making 3x more elsewhere.

Typo?????

If it is not a typo I want to know what they are smoking...they want experience at $14.00/hr. Good Luck! I'm going to call tomorrow and find out....they are closed for the day

Well Disney land in Anaheim California pays 25/hr for RN. I'm not that surprised.Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com

I can't imagine anyone would be willing to work for that, especially not the "flexible schedule" of evenings, weekends and holidays.

Comment:
I might do it if they paid all my living expenses, including car rental, fuel, restaurant tabs, new shoes (LOTS!)----

Comment:
And make sure you can carry that 35 pound bag lickity split, too!

I hope this is not a portent of things to come. No employer will pay more than they have to - for any job. Some jobs have "contextual benefits" that make them very attractive despite low or inadequate wages. For instance, Major trauma centers & well-known teaching hospitals can get by with paying less because of the training & experience they provide. Working in a highly desirable location/setting is always a plus. However, if there are just too few jobs & a lot of desperate nurses, employers will be able to decrease wages for the skunky jobs & still attract applicants. I hope to goodness it doesn't come to that.

Comment:
I have a feeling this job will appeal to retired nurses looking for a fun place to be for a few weeks. Camp nursing does not pay well, but the extra amenities make up for it, if they interest you.

I called them and it is real. "This is a low key environment and a privilege to work for Bush Gardens Tampa. This is a seasonal position that we prefer to have experience but all applicants but that is not at all necessary. We have a full time paramedic staff that the nurse will assist" When I pointed out that occupational health nurses are credentialed she replied that the seasonal nurse will only be doing data entry and following procedure. I told her I was surprised that the education for a licensed position was a high school diploma and NOT graduation from and accredited nursing program...she was confused but mentioned that there is a surplus of nurses looking for work. When I mentioned that was pitiful pay for a RN with any experience...she said "We are looking for young motivated individuals that are looking for a fun seasonal environment" I mentioned that was against the EEOC and Federal labor laws....I got crickets. They want a warm desperate body
