Job Rejection Letters

Rating:
(votes: 9)

Is it your experience that most hospitals send letters notifying you that you weren't chosen for a job (i.e. rejection letters), or do you just usually hear nothing back from them?

Thanks for your feedback!
In the last year and countless applications for jobs I have gotten a total of two rejection emails and one call from a job I actually interviewed for.

Comment:
When I apply I generally get that kick back email that I'm not qualified enough. Only if I interview do I not hear anything back. :P

Comment:
Nine times out of ten I never hear anything again. One time out of ten I'll receive the personalized rejection email from a recruiter, typically after I've interviewed with someone.

I've only been rejected once for a job I actually interviewed for. I'm not sure if I would have heard anything, but they had told me during the interview that they would be letting me know w/in the week one way or the other. I didn't hear, so I called to find out what was up...it was just over the week mark, and I figured I wasn't hired but didn't want to wonder anymore.I have submitted apps but not gotten an interview; for those I've usually gotten a form e-mail saying something like "upon careful review, we have decided to pursue other candidates."

Comment:
emails...lots of them. Thanks for applying but we've chosen someone whose skills are closer to the job requirements...blah blah

Comment:
I've actually experienced both, but it seems that most of the time I will receive a rejection e-mail rather than hearing nothing at all. Give it awhile and if you still haven't heard anything back I would go ahead and call to ask about the status of your application.
