Is my dream possibleRating: (votes: 0) I think it probably depends on the situation. In Texas the background check is required at the BEGINNING of nursing school so that people do not finish school only to learn they will not be allowed to be licensed. Ask someone at the Board how to get a ruling on this ahead of time. Good luck. Comment:
You need to get in touch with your state's BON and present that question to them.Even if they grant licenses to people with a felony on their record, most employers would not hire a felon. This is seen on the background check that most employers use.Is it possible to get your record expunged?

ThanksApparently this can't be expunged. I just don't want to have to pay for all fees for nothing.

ThanksI was hoping I didn't have to pay all fees for nothing.

You could try writing to your state representative/seantor and see if s/he could help you. If this happened a long time ago and you've kept your nose clean since then, you could tell the representative about your desire to become a nurse and help the people in your state, etc., etc., etc. It's a long shot, but it may work.
