Can CARN-AP's precribe meds?

Forgive my ignorance as I really don't know much at all about advance practice nursing. I was wondering, can CARN-AP (certified addictions registered nurses, advance practice) prescribe meds?

Or are only NP's allowed to prescribe?
If they have prescriptive authority by the state BoN and DEA. Not all APNs secure prescribing authority though most do.

I agree with Beachy. You need to check with the specific state that you're practicing in.
