Trouble finding job RNRating: (votes: 0) ![]() there is unfortunately no nursing shortage, at least none in metropolitan areas.....more opportunity rural and in se texas Comment:
It's not just you. In most areas of this country there are many more nurses available to work than there are job openings, simple as that. If you are serious about finding work, you might have to just as seriously consider moving to a more remote area of the country, somewhere nurses aren't tripping over each other on their way to HR!Good luck

I graduated with a BSN. Passed NCLEX a few weeks ago. Two interviews. One rejection, still waiting to hear about the other one. You are not alone.

Employers may be wary if your resume makes it painfully obvious that English is not your first language, much like your post does. Have you had someone look at your resume? I think it may be with your time and money.

I agree with PP. Your resume must be perfect if you want it to be taken seriously. Have it reviewed by people who are articulate in English. It's not you, everyone knows that it's extremely difficult to get a nursing job.

Hi, don't give up, keep hitting up job websites everyday and putting your application in. It can be stressful and frustrating but keep working at it! Like previous posters noted, be prepared to look outside of your current location- you may have to commute a longer distance or relocate. I agree with flyersfan88- make sure to proofread your grammar and spelling in your documents that you're sending out- resume, cover letter and every single thing you type in the application cannot have errors.Best of luck on your job hunt!!

I lived in a large metro area as a new grad and had 0 luck with the big hospitals. I started applying to the smaller rural hospitals nearby and had a job within a month. Good luck!
