advice for SNF to ER transition

Hey guys! I am starting an ER job in a little over a week and I am very excited about it but at the same time nervous and could really use some advice on what to expect. I've been a nurse for 2 years and my experience consists of SNF and home health. I wanted to get in the hospital right out of nursing school but could not get in since I lacked experience. Finally, someone is giving me a chance and I couldnt be more thankful. I just completed my ACLS and PALS and those went great. I enrolled in TNCC too. I'm looking for ENPC as well because I have no experience with kids other than the ones in nursing school. So, do you guys have any advice for me so I can better prep myself with this new job? Thanks
I would wait on TNCC and ENPC. Your employer should pay for those and you might find it easier to prepare after a year in the department. I love the ED, my only advice is to be open to learn and friendly. Never be afraid to ask questions, always ask in fact. Be prepared for an entirely different experience. Good luck!

Loo17, Thank you. You were right about the "entirely different experience" and I love it. I asked my employer if they would pay for they TNCC and ENPC but I was denied since my contract is only for a short period of time. That's ok though I dont mind "investing" in classes to better myself .
