Accellerated MSN vs. BSNRating: (votes: 0) I think you need to ask yourself what is your long term goal with nursing and go from there. If you are undecided with your long term goal, I would research how much more money can you make with the MSN vs BSN. There is a shortage of nurses so you will get a job regardless. Also, is the other school in a different state? If so you will have out of state fees. If it were me, I would not move especially If I am comfortable and love where I am. But the ultimate decision is yours, weigh all the factors. Good luck Comment: The Maters is indeed an investment in your future and wouldn't be useless to you, but it's not something that you will use immediately because you're going to will be taking entry level bedside positions at first. If you're young, I would advise going this route. The accelerated program has it's benefits as well, since it will keep you close to home and will get you working quicker. Then you can decide on a MSN program later on down the line as you decide what areas of nursing you're interested in and if you want to specialize in something specific. MSN's can be in many specialties and it's hard to say the MSN you get at UCLA will be one you actually want.
