pay for educators?

I have been an RN for 26 years. I am completing my BSN next year and plan on going right into a Master's in Education Program. After talking to several that I work with I am wondering about my choice. They said that in Ohio you would have to take a pay cut of about 25% to work as an college instructor. Is this true in all states? I have always wanted to end my career teaching. I would love to pass own my love for nursing.
Nobody in nursing goes into teaching for the money! It is pretty much guaranteed that you will always be able to make more money in clinical practice. In many cases, your new graduates will be walking into entry-level jobs paying more than you make teaching them.Only you can decide whether that is okay with you, and whether your other reasons for wanting to teach are "enough" to make it worthwhile for you.
