desperate to break into research

hello,

I am a 2yr lpn hoping to break into research. i was a contract drug safety nurse on a 6month contract that only lasted for 1month (due to budget). i receive a lot of calls for a drug safety nurse or specialist but when they really see that i only have 1 month experience in i dont get a 2nd call. do anyone have any suggestions how i can break into research another way? i did take a huge pay cut because i was entry level with no experience, that i don't care too much about. i live in phila pa and have 6 classes to complete both science and psychology degree and 1 year left for my RN degree.
