best way to become a RN ???

Im currently doing my prereqs at a community college and was planning to get into a nursing program. however im unsure if this is the best path to take in becoming an RN. i just recently found out about ROP programs. i am looking for some advice on which path is the right or wrong, pro/cons?? are there any other options in becoming an RN?
