Oh my I need help please

I'm going to be a freshman at UCSD this fall. I am extremely interested and nursing and believe that helping others emotionally and physically is my passion; this is what i want to do in life. I am so torn because UCSD does not offer a BSN because they don't even have a nursing major (i plan to major in human development and get a B.A degree in this). I hope to someday become a Nurse Practitioner but i am not sure how to start this route. I am so confused because some people say that i can apply for nursing schools after i graduate to obtain a B.S, but then i would just feel that 4 years of study at UCSD would be a waste of time. I really do not know what to do. Right now i'm thinking to graduate early at ucsd and apply to a accelerated bsn-msn program...But i don't even know if this is the right choice for me. I am so confused. Can someone please give me some education/career advice!

Why are you even considering going to UCSD if they don't offer education in the field that interests you? That seems like an incredible waste of time and money.Find a nursing school that you want to attend to earn the degree that will give you the career you want ... then make a plan to attend that school. If the timetable becomes a problem and you don't want to waste a semester, maybe you can go to UCSD for a semester or two and take courses that will transfer into whatever nursing school you choose. Then those courses at UCSD will not be a waste of time and money.
