A nursing friend told me about some agencies that operate call centers with nurses working at home where clients can call in with their health concerns and questions on if their condition warrants a ER or doctor's visit. By employing a software system and asking appropriate questions from a PC the RN can determine and advise the Pt is their condition warrants a ER visit or not.

I understand that these firms issue the employees a laptop, software and whatever ever they need to be able to work from home.

Is anyone aware of any such agencies and if so, the names of these firms that employee nurses as such.

That sounds like something I'd be very interested in.
