Bad Timing to be unemployed

Hello,
A few years ago I quit my job to return to school to get my BSN. I have been an ADN for 20 years. My most recent experience has been school nursing (10 years), I have some Dr.s office experience and hospital varied experience, however the hospital was 20 years ago. While attending school I have been volunteering at a local free clinic with registered nursing duties.

what are my chances of getting hired in this tough job market for a Doctor's office position? It seems that school nursing is not considered clinical nursing by many office managers and nurse recruiters. However, with the inclusion of chronically ill students into the school system, most hiring managers do not have a clue what school nurses do.
I know I do not want to return to school nursing. I really want to pursue another area of nursing

Any suggestions?

Thanks a bunch!
( I also posted under inactive nurses thread)
