Hi, I'm entering CCRI and getting my prerequisites out of the way so that I can enter the Nursing program. I plan on becoming a midwife, but to do so, I have to become an RN first. So, my question may sound silly or whatever, but I'm genuinely confused here. What will my degree be when I leave the nursing program at CCRI? An LPN? Then I have to go to URI or RIC or the likes to become an RN, right? But how long do you go to school for that? Is it a 4 year or 2 year program generally? I realize I can talk to my career advisors at school about this and all, but I don't have an appointment until end of January after classes start. I'm a "timeline" kind of person. I like to have the big picture in clear view before I really get going on something.
Thanks to anyone that can help!
You get an Associates Degree in Nursing from CCRI, a two-year program, and you are an R.N. If you want your Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from RIC or URI, you probably have to do another two years. LPN program is one year at CCRI.
