bachelor's degree to ASN? Accelerated programs?Rating: (votes: 0) I have a bachelor's degree in biology and a chemistry minor but have decided that i want to become a RN. I was told by an RN that its in my best interest to get an ASN instead of a BSN. is this true? Also, are there accelerated programs for getting an ASN like there are for getting a BSN? There are several different ways to become a RN. There are over 100 accelerated BSN programs for those with a BS/BA in another subject. THere are also dozens of direct-entry MSN programs also for those with a non-nursing undergraduate degree.Accelerated BSN (ABSN) programs can be completed in 10-16 months. Most associate degree programs are 2 years in length.A good list of Direct Entry and ABSN programs can be found on the website of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing at http://www.aacn.nche.edu/Education/n.../nep_index.htm |
