Transfer opportunity?

I recently applied for a job outside my department and was contacted for an interview. I was told at the interview that the position that I applied to was filled but there was another job that opened up because of the nurse that accepted the position. I am interested in the other job opportunity but another nurse on my night shift has taken a position in the same department and will be transferring in at least 1 month. Knowing that one other nurse is going to be transferring from the same night shift, would I be less apt to be considered for hiring since they are taking 2 nurses off the same shift in the same department or is it not really an issue? Opinions would be great because my stomach has been churning waiting for the phone call!
