Resignation letter help!Rating: (votes: 0) I hope you can help me. I work flexi pool at a local hospitial. I have been diagnosed with dysautomia, which effects your whole nervous system. I have been asked to turn my resignation in or I will be terminated for health reasons. I do not know how to write the letter so it will not hurt me in the furture. My manager stated that at the end of the letter I could even put something like hopefully this will just be temporary and I will be open for employment with your facility in the future. Example: I am resigning in One Day Surgery due to health reasons. Then I go blank. Do I go into why I can't work on my feet 8+ hours a day without breaks, sometimes lunch, and not to mention the stress. My doctor has advised me to not be on my feet all day. I stay dehydrated so I have to drink water all day long 64oz +, and eat due to low sodium. If I don't my BP drops, and I start having other problems. Please help me write this letter so it will not hurt my future, but explain why I am having to leave. I am not trying to get out of working. I hope that there will be a job out there somewhere where I can get my strength back. Thank you, Peachycasper :angel2: (Disclaimer: this is a straightforward anwer to your question and is assuming you don't have a legal case for being terminated d/t a disability.)Dear XXXX,I am resigning effective x date due to health reasons. I hope to return in the future should my condition allow me to again perform the essential job functions. I enjoyed my time here and have appreciated the many professional growth opportunities (even if you haven't and there were none .)Thank you, xxxx Comment: It is never necessary (and rarely advisable) to state a reason for a resignation. I would recommend something like this, "I submit my resignation from my position as staff nurse in ICU, effective June 1, 2006. I thank you for the opportunity to serve in this position, and would welcome the opportunity to return to XYZ Hospital in the future."Best to you!Comment: FWIW: I like Jolie's better.Comment: I agree..no need to give them too much info. Good luck to you.Comment: Thank you, Nurse Ratched,That was staight and to the point. I think it will be perfect, well maybe not the last line. But I appreciate it anyway. PeachycasperComment: Thank you, Jolie,This helps so much. I feel brain dead from trying to decide how to write just a few words. You have made something very simple that was taking me all day to master. Thank you again,PeachycasperComment: [quote=suzy253]I agree..no need to give them too much info. Good luck to you.
